Saint Vincent Plantation Index

Built from probate filings, shipping records, planter correspondence held in two Scottish family archives, and a small set of letters recovered from a private Otago collection.

The index is organised by estate rather than by individual, because individual names move and estate names are far more stable across the period.

Several attorneys appear under different spellings depending on which clerk recorded them and in which decade. The index keeps every spelling rather than collapsing them, on the basis that a clean record is not necessarily a more truthful one.
