The catalogue began as a small reference list for a single family enquiry and has since grown into a long-running cross-reference project covering several hundred awards.
Filtering happens in two directions. From the awards inward, looking for surname clusters that show up in later New Zealand settler records. From New Zealand records outward, looking back into the awards for plausible matches.
Most entries do not resolve. The project documents the gap as carefully as it documents the match.
