The slip book was damaged in a flood in the late 1990s and stored for nearly twenty years before being handed over to the project.
Roughly forty percent of the inside leaves are unrecoverable. The remainder can be partially read with raking light and patience.
Recovery is paired with a structured note for every illegible entry, so that the gaps in the slip book are themselves part of the record.
